What Does this serum Bilirubin Test Result Means?

my brother is suffering from jaundice from he is 17 year old his reports are as follow;
serum bilirubin test......total 3.1mg
direct is0.5
indirect is2.6
please tell me that is it need a serious treatement .and what are the precaution should he take to overtake it...plz reply me sir..

hi, dr. boskey is here, your brother indirect bilirubin. is high, means hemolysis is occur in body due to some reason, so we have to find out that reason, pls do c.b.c.m.p test which is very basic test. and give basic reason of hemolysis, so take care!
